Organic Farm Journal

This farm poetry journal chronicles McCook’s life as a certified organic farmer, performance poet, and political observer, in the years between 1996 and 2002. It captures the farming promise of certified organic agriculture in far Northern New Mexico, from the first success raising organic bread wheat and straw for houses, and also the final disappointment of seeing 6 acres of certified organic Seeds of Change bush beans dry up without promised irrigation. The journal was written early mornings before farm work began at dawn. There are photos of the farm, the equipment, and the crops we produced.
